About The Pineville Tavern

The Pineville Hotel was built in 1742 and served as the central focus of town. It's front porch was the town's central gathering place and the site of sales of public land, livestock, and equipment. While the public sales are gone, today's Pineville Tavern is a popular dining place renowned for proprietor Andrew Abruzzese's home made pasta. Join us and enjoy casual fine-dining with the real locals. Pineville is one of the few remaining Bucks County Taverns that seems to get better with every trip!

Hauntings
Excerpted from "Bucks County Ghost Stories"

Before, during and since the meticulous restoration of the old hotel, Andrew Abruzzese said some rather odd occurances lead several people at the Pineville Tavern to believe that they were being watched over by a benign spirit. "I truly believe it is a protective ghost," Andrew states. "No one has even had a bad experience. I think the energy here gives us warnings that something's about to happen. The modern history of this place has all been good karma."

The tavern has also had unsolicited and unexpected revelations from a recent customer. The customer, a psychic, told one of the employees that the energy was the strongest in the 1742 room, and also quite strong in the basement. The psychic also felt that the energy was most likely a former resident.

Research has also shown that the presence seems to be that of a burly individual, probably male, who seems to carry a large parcel or package in an eternal stroll through the rear dining rooms and through a doorway which may have existed prior to the renovations. The energy seems to be that of the ghost of someone who may have been a farmhand or laborer. His load may well have been a bail of hay or a sack of grain.

Although Andrew has never seen the ghost himself, he fully acknowledges the observations of some employees and several guests who believe a ghost strolls in their midst.

Recently, there was a rash of false fire alarms touched off in the tavern, and the staff blamed it, of course, on the ghost. Andrew, however, feels that "whoever or whatever is here set off the alarms to keep us on our toes."

"It's more than energy," Andrew says. "It's definitely a feeling that there's somebody - or something - here, on our side."
